Dhol Hut – Mewar, Rajasthan

The village of Dhol, near Gogunda, is home to this potter’s hut. The substantial two-storeyed dwelling is constructed of stone, plastered with mud. The dwelling consists of five rooms, which are respectively used as living quarters, pottery store and animal shed. To the front of the building is a verandah, which serves the purpose of the potter’s work area. The entrance to the downstairs portion of the dwelling is attractively decorated with Mandana paintings.
